The Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum invites you to an ARTIST TALK with Prof. Wolfgang Binding and Andreas Petzold!
On Sunday, August 2 at 11 a. m., presenter Wibke Birth will introduce and contextualise the work of the Aachen-based sculptor in conversation with the artist and his art dealer.
Wolfgang Binding, Professor Emeritus of Sculpture at RWTH Aachen University, is one of the region’s most influential figurative sculptors. His works combine realistic observation with an expressive, condensed formal language that stems from direct studies of nature and is rendered in bronze.
The focus of the analysis will be, amongst other things, on works in public spaces, such as "St George" (Aachen Brand Police Headquarters) and the sculpture group "Playing Horses", that welcomes visitors to the equestrian tournament at the entrance to the CHIO grounds in Aachen’s Soers.
Following this, a tactile tour will allow visitors to touch and experience Mr Binding’s artworks through touch.
Admission is free; no booking is required.
We look forward to welcoming you.
